Why choose artificial grass?
Artificial grass is a low maintenance option for your lawn that requires no mowing or watering and significantly reduces the risk of mud baths and stays green during drought making your garden playable in all year. Unlike natural grass, there is no need for fertilisers that are harmful to the environments and pets. Artificial grass comes in a variety of different colours and lengths allowing you to choose the style you want in your garden.
How can I pay for my order?
You will be asked to pay the balance of you order with either a credit/debit card or via PayPal.
How long will my artificial grass last?
In the UK your grass should last for around 10 to 15 years, maintaining its colour and shape. If properly installed and maintained many of our surfaces have lasted even longer than this. You can find all the information you need to make sure your grass lasts for years to come here.
How do I maintain my artificial grass?
Artificial grass requires little maintenance, leaves and debris can be easily removed with a short pile broom or a hoover and marks removed with some water and mild detergent.
For those with young children and pets, hosing down your lawn once a month will reduce odours and keep your lawn clean.
We recommend that your use only mild detergents when cleaning your artificial grass as any products that are acidic or oxidising such as bleach may damage your grass and can cause discolouration, deformation and increase the risk of slipping.
Where can I install my artificial grass?
Artificial grass can be installed in any area on any surface including areas which previously had natural grass.
How long does it take to install the artificial grass?
For installation, please see our installation guides here.
Can I install the artificial grass myself?
Yes. Our products are easy to install and come with step by step instruction guides. For more information on installation see our installation guides here.
Do I need to water the artificial grass?
In the UK our climate is such that you should not need to water your artificial grass, but we do recommend you hose down your lawn once a month to keep it clean and in tip top condition.
In hotter climates we do recommend that you hose down your lawn more frequently to reduce the risk of the underlying soil from cracking. See our guide on top tips and advice for maintaining your artificial grass here.
What about weeding?
In order to allow for free flowing drainage all our artificial grass products have porous backings that may allow weeds to grow up through the grass from time to time. We recommend that you use weed killer twice a year to prevent weeds and moss forming on the grass. Alternatively any weeds that do appear can be simply pulled out. See our maintenance guide here.
Will my artificial grass fade in the sun?
No. All our artificial grass products are UV stable and will not fade or be damaged by the sun.
What about drainage?
All our artificial grass products have a porous backing that allows for water to drain through just like natural grass with the added bonus of your lawn not becoming a mudbath when it rains.
Is artificial grass safe for children and pets?
Yes. All our products are safe for both children and pets and can be used in any weather without the risk of mudbaths! Many pet owners have installed artificial grass in their gardens and is even used in the main arena at crufts. Pet mess will not adversely affect the quality of your grass, simply remove the mess and wash down with a hose once a month to reduce odours.
Can I have artificial grass around the pool?
Yes. Our denser, short pile products are idea for around the pool and are softer underfoot than concrete tiles with the added bonus of ideal spots for sunbathing!
Can I still use the BBQ on artificial grass?
We recommend that you place your BBQ on a hard surface (e.g. concrete slabs) to protect the grass from any hot surfaces as extreme temperatures will cause the grass to melt.
Do you supply sports pitches?
Yes. Depending on the size of the area we do offer installation of full sports pitches such as tennis courts, football pitches and putting greens. Our sports pitches are suitable for use commercially, privately and in playgrounds at schools and can meet the minimum requirement for critical fall height. See our pages on artificial grass in sports pitches and playground here for more information.
Can I install my artificial grass on top of decking?
Yes. Our artificial grass products can be installed on any surface with the added bonus of reducing slipping on decking and will not cause any additional damage to the surface. You may wish to lay plywood boards on top of your decking to provide an even surface as over time the artificial grass will mould into the gaps and ridges in the decking planks
Please note that artificial grass should not be used as a protective cover for decking and will not prevent rotting. We therefore recommend that you regularly inspect the decking to prevent any damage to the grass or personal injury.
Can I install artificial grass indoors?
Yes. Our products are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use on any surface.
What is artificial grass made from?
Artificial grass is made up of several different synthetic fibres (often propylene or polyethylene) that mimic the look and feel of natural grass which varies between products.
Will it solve my mole infestation problem?
While we cannot guarantee that installing artificial grass will completely remove any mole problems you may be having, the dense surface of the underlying soil does tend to deter moles from digging and therefore does significantly reduce the risk of mole hills in your garden.
Will my artificial grass look and feel real?
Yes. Our products are designed to look just like real grass with several different options available for you too choose what cut and style you want your lawn to have. All of our products are soft underfoot, our short pile grasses are coarser underfoot that our long pile grass however none of our products are abrasive on the skin.
